Hmm, it does look like an RR ... but more like a manual than an electric. Do you ever see him return the carriage by hand? If so, then the wiring is just for show.
I'm thinking Teeritz and Richard are correct. I thought it looked like a manual but the automatic movement threw me off. In the skit the carriage moves without Joel touching it, so I assumed they used an electric. But now I'm thinking they modified a manual RR with some fancy-schmancy animitronics.
Remington Rand? I'm basing my answer on the long stretch of writing on the rear of the machine.
