Musings from the desert written on vintage machines
The vast majority of machines I have come by have been essentially intact, though occasionally suffering from decayed rubber in the platen, pinch roller and footwear departments. Improvised fixes beyond these will help you develop that saintly patience carried off so well in Bill's demeanour. Welcome to the Typosphere!
Thanks Rob! I've already got a length of rubber tubing I can use to make more washers If I need them. I suppose I'll need to start a typewriter-specific toolbox.
