"No typewriters, so I guess I'll get these..."

From my Brother Charger 11
Yes, It really is!  I'm not an Enya hater, but I wouldn't have bought her CD for myself.

I'm not sure what to do with Little Brother. I like the form factor and sturdiness. I've actually been thinking of carrying him with me when I go for motorcycle rides this fall. But I can't seem to fix the blurry type and I don't like the typing feel. We'll see...

  1. Funny, Enya's the only one on the list that I *would* have bought for myself. Different strokes, I guess.

    1. If we all liked the same things the world would be a horrible facsimile, like Disneyland.

  2. Nice selection of CDs. There are sound engineers and then there are s o u n d engineers out there. All in all it is up to the musicians to approve the final mix-down.
Enya. I am not familiar with that particular CD, but she is a fine artist and generally her music is very relaxing.

    1. You're right Bill, you could tell whoever did the mixdown on that album was in love with their new compressor.

  3. Oooh, Brother Charger 11, eh? blurry type could be the escapement trip point (if it releases too soon, the paper moves while the typebar is still touching the paper). I've seen Bill adjust this, but I'm not sure where the adjustment is on a Brother.

    1. Hey Ted, Bill seemed to think it was the vibrator hanging up. It was acting glitchy when he looked at the machine. And, of course, he typed on it and it was nice and clear. So some of the problem has to do with my hamfisted typing.

What's frustrating is I have the vibrator moving smooth as silk now and it's still typing blurry. You may be right, It may be the trip point. Unfortunately, there's no clear "adjustor" I can see on the escapement assembly.

  4. That's how I buy my music too (if typewriters are thin on the ground). Count Basie, a compilation of slide guitar oldies and Santana were the highlights of my last expedition. All in a good cause, right?
